David Sun Wah Lum

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of David Sun Wah Lum at 12:22 am on January 29, 2025, just short of his 95th birthday. He passed away peacefully at home with his loyal caregiver, Esther, and a nurse by his side. He is predeceased by his wife Yee Wah (Eva) Lum, brother Harry Sun Kwong Lum, father Gung Yen Lum, mother May Ng, and step-mother Dai Mui Lum.

David was born on February 25, 1930 in Vancouver, BC. He married his wife, Yee Wah (Eva), on February 5, 1957 in Hong Kong. Shortly after, he brought her home to Canada where they raised three children and built a legacy to hand on to generations. We are forever grateful .

He is survived by his sisters Lillie Davis and Marion Giles, his daughter Marian and her husband Doug Fee; son Warner and his wife Calista Lum; daughter Lana and her husband Marvin Jin; granddaughter Marissa Mar and her husband Benson Lee; granddaughter Reanna Fee; grandson Robert Jin and great-granddaughter Myra Lee.

Evening visitation will be available between 7 pm and 9 pm on Wednesday, February 26th, and a celebration of life will be held at 10 am on Thursday, February 27th at Ocean View Funeral Home at 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby, BC. After interment, luncheon will follow at 12:30 pm at Joyful Seafood restaurant at #150-5665 Kingsway, Burnaby, BC. Condolences can be sent to www.oceanview.com.
