Mr. Dennis Gibbs

Passed away peacefully on January 29, 2015 at the family home in North Vancouver, British Columbia, at the age of 78 years. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 3rd, 1936, Dennis was the only child of Reginald and Ann Gibbs. He attended the University of Manitoba and graduated from the faculty of Law in 1962. Dennis articled for three years with the province of Manitoba Attorney General's Department while attending law school. He worked in private practice in Winnipeg until moving to Vancouver in 1967. In 1969, Dennis married Cheryl Lynne Scott and they had two sons together. After working for BC Hydro and McMillan Bloedel, he was with the Federal Department of Justice for 32 years until he retired in April 2014. Throughout his life, Dennis was a dedicated father and son. He was very generous and very caring. Dennis traveled throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East and North America. He loved music, especially jazz, and his extensive book collection signified his love of reading. Dennis will be deeply missed by his sons, Patrick and Kelly. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday March 6, 2015 at the Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby
