December 4, 1944 – July 14, 2023
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Desanka (Desa) Kos. Surrounded by her children and grandchildren, she slipped peacefully from this world on July 14, 2023. Desa is predeceased by her parents Dusan and Stoja, and her brother Velimir. Desa is survived by her son Sasha (Silvana), daughter Olga (Nenad), her five grandchildren Milica, Mila, Nikola, Aleksandar and Milan, sister Dusanka, brother Desimir (Perka), and sister-in-law Vilka. Desa was born in Donji Pervan (Banja Luka), Bosnia and Hercegovina, Yugoslavia and moved to Vancouver in 1969 with the hope of creating a better life for her family. She will lovingly be remembered for her kind and warm smile, as an extremely hard worker, and as the most devoted and selfless mother and grandmother.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 25 at 10:45a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, followed by the burial. Reception to follow at Balkan House Restaurant.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or St. Sava Serbian Church in Vancouver.
