She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to parents Ragnar (Ray) and Elizabeth Nystedt. Her teen years were spent on the family farm in the Vanscoy area.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Peter, son Brian, brothers Gordon ,Elmer, Roy and sister Marie. She is survived by her son Larry (Jeanne), her son Garry (Wendy) and her daughter Valerie (Arthur). She has 12 grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Donna was a hard worker from working on the family farm to running a motel in Burnaby while raising a family all on her own. She was not a complainer and always put family first. She was affectionately known as “Big Baba” by her grandchildren and they always talked about the best perogies she made.
Donna will be missed but we will always have fond memories of our time with her.
A funeral service will be held on January 16, 2026, from 11:00 am at Ocean View Funeral Home, located at 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC, V5J1A4, Canada.
Following the funeral service, a committal service will take place on January 16, 2026, from 12:30 pm at Ocean View Funeral Home & Burial Park, located at the same address.
