I enjoyed working  with Doug for a short time at the Longroom  in the Cargo Unit.  He was such a funny character who was intelligent and witty, he made my work place more fun. RIP Doug. 

I worked with Doug for a number of years in CBSA. Doug was definitely a character.  He had a quit wit and a sarcastic/dark humour which was spot on in his work environment.  I look back on my time working with him with fond memories.  May he Rest In Peace. 

Worked with Doug at United Terminals in Burnaby. Doug's uncle had been the custodian at my elementary school, therefore we had something to talk about. Doug loved to tease and sing little diddies. He was a character that's for sure. RIP...Wendy Schmidt 

I met Doug in October 1981 on my 1st day of work. I can thank him for directing me to some of my favourite books ever. (The Flashman Series, GWTW, Sharpe, etc.) We both enjoyed both history & historical fiction.  He had amazing stories - being saved by "Tuffy" the mongoose in India; The neighbourhood cat that wouldn't leave until it had TWO pieces of cheese; and many, many fascinating historical tidbits.  He was very, very clever and didn't give a damn what others thought of him.  Jorge Luis Borges said that "Paradise will be some sort of library."  I hope it is Doug. I hope it is.

I found Doug to  be a nice guy and  very intelligent. I worked with him for many years and  he always had a sharp comment whenever necessary.

It was fun to work with him. I hope he had a good retirement.

I worked with Doug for many years at Canada Customs (later CBSA) until he retired some years ago. Doug loved reading and books , and often he would go to local bookstores on his breaks in search of new material.

I think that it was good that Doug enjoyed a fair amount of retirement years and I hope that it was quality time.

Douglas was my cousin, he lived a quiet life, enjoyed his home and his passion, reading the many books he owned over many years.  

While he enjoyed his privacy and kept much to himself, all his relatives spoke kindly of him and always enjoyed speaking with him during the family events he did attend. 

He was a kind soul, may he rest in peace as he now joins his brother
and loved ones who have gone on before.
