Edie was born in Vancouver as the eighth of a family of twelve brothers and sisters. She had worked very hard during her life and made many friends. She raised two children with husband Jack, while managing a rooming house and a retail store front selling farm fresh eggs (Valley Eggs) in Vancouver's Chinatown. She was happiest spending time with family and friends, hosting dinners, and playing bingo and mah-jong. Visits from step-daughter Helen and her family were always a joy as was helping to look after her grandchildren while living with Louise in her early senior years. Edie also had an opportunity to live on her own for a few years which gave her an opportunity for a social life with friends and going to bingo several times a week. In 2006 she moved to Clarendon Court Assisted Living, where she spent seven years. She later moved in with Louise and her family until her passing. Edie will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank Dr Lynn Huff, Dr Mitra Motamedi, the staff at Clarendon Court and the many kind care aides that have that have assisted Edith over the years. At Edie's request there will be no service. A private family gathering is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clarendon Court Assisted Living or to the Kidney Foundation in the name of Edith Hall.
