It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Jensen, with family at her side. Born in Yorkshire, England she came to Canada in 1946 as a war bride after serving in the British Army in the 2nd World War. With her husband Ernie they settled in Manitoba for a number of years before moving to Vancouver where they raised their family of eight children. A long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Betty received many service awards, including a Certificate of Merit. Predeceased by her husband, Ernie and her grandson Danny, Betty will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family, Jean, Bob (Linda), Bonnie (John), Wendy (Dan), Evelyn (Don), Victor (Debby), Valerie (Dan), Ernest (Leanne), 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, brothers Harold (Betty) and Arthur (Catherine) of Yorkshire, England and many friends. A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC on Friday, December 10th, 2010 at 1:30 pm, followed by a reception in the Tea Lounge of the Funeral Home.
