Elizabeth Klement

Elizabeth passed away on June 20, 2024, at the age of 98. She was the beloved, special mother of Erika Jozsa. Predeceased by her husband, John Peter Klement, and son-in-law, Laszlo Jozsa. Loving grandmother to Alexandra (Gil), Christina (Andrew), John and David (Laura), and great-grandmother to Violette and Isadora.

Elizabeth was born on October 20, 1925, in Hungary where she lived with her parents and sister. She married her husband and life-long love in 1944. Their daughter, Erika, was born in 1946. Elizabeth immigrated to Canada with her husband and daughter after the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. The family of three settled in Vancouver, where they built a wonderful life centred around family and were active members of the Hungarian community.

Always bright and hardworking, Elizabeth opened a hair salon in Kitsilano and later got a job as head clerk at the UBC department of finance, where she worked for over 20 years until retirement. She was loving, kind and generous beyond measure and always put family first.

She is reunited with her beloved husband and son-in-law, as well as many family members from Hungary.
