Emilia Di Trocchio

Emilia was born on November 20, 1931, in Campodimele, Latina, Italy, and immigrated to Canada in 1955, settling in Vancouver, BC.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Giuseppe (Nancy), Americo (Anna), and Mary (Rick); her grandchildren: Angela, Amanda (Chris), Emilio (Alannah), and Isabella (Craig); her great-grandchildren: Riley and Liam; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Gerardo; her parents, Crocifissa and Giuseppe Pannozzo; her brothers, Lucio and Paolo; her sisters-in-law, Valentina, Anna Maria, and Pierina; and her brother-in-law, Pierino.

Emilia had a kind heart and a generous spirit. She created a warm and loving home and was a devoted mother, wife, aunt, sister-in-law, Nonna, and Bis-Nonna.

She found joy and happiness in the simple things of life. Emilia was not only a cherished family member but also a passionate gardener and cook. Her love for growing fresh vegetables brought joy, nourishment, and deep connections with her family, friends, and neighbours. She believed that gardening was a way to appreciate nature and share the earth’s bounty with others.

The warmth of her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aromas of homemade bread, pasta, and sauces. There was magic in the way she cooked—every meal was a labor of love meant to bring the family together.

Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her. Emilia will be remembered for her joyful disposition, her sense of humour, and her unwavering love, devotion, and kindness.

Our deepest appreciation and thanks go to the wonderful staff at Villa Carital for their exceptional care of our mother over the past four and a half years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 25, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2025 Napier Street, Vancouver. Entombment will follow at the Abbey Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby.
