Emma Merenda

It is with heartfelt emotion that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Emma. Predeceased by her husband Palmo, parents Carmine & Rosina, and brothers Pasquale, Umberto and Francesco.

Emma is survived by her devoted daughters Saverina (Raimond), Rosellina (Michael), and Anna, her grandchildren Margaret (Rob), Joey (Sandra), Michael (Ciara), Christopher, Emma (Sebastian), Melissa (Nick), Ryan (Karmeena), and the light of her life her great grandchildren Alexander, Anthony, Adriano, Joey, Dȧithi, Eȧbha, and Sophia.

She is also survived by her sister Maria (Vincenzo), along with many nieces and nephews around the world. Emma will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital, and especially Dr. Frederick Ridz, for the exceptional care and compassion shown to our mother in her final days. Also our gratitude to Dr Luigi Salvino who took care of our mother up to entering into long term care.

A visitation will be held at Bell and Burnaby Funeral Chapel, located at 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC, V5C 2J6, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 2025 Napier St, Vancouver, BC, V5L 2N8, on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum, 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby, BC, at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Children’s Hospital.
