Enrico Palmieri

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Enrico Palmieri announce his passing in his 102nd year. Enrico was predeceased by his wife Anna Maria (2007), his eldest son Angelo (2012), two brothers Mario, Renato and three sisters Annunziata, Luisa & Maria. He is survived by his daughter Carmela (Camillo), son Frank (Ruth), and daughter-in-law Rose. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Rossana (Ernie), Rodney (Marijana), Lisa (Alastair), Marc (Milissa), Dino (Jackie), Darren, David and Deanna (Anthony), his (11) great grandchildren Brandon, Raquel, Joseph, Thomas, Bradley, Tyler, Cody, Daniella, Alivia, Giordano and Amedeo. Born in Torrice, Frosinone, Italy on May 26th, 1914. After working in Africa and Argentina, Enrico immigrated to Canada in 1950 settling in Golden, B.C. and working on the railroad. The family followed in 1953. After leaving the railroad he then went to work in one of the many sawmills in the area where he labored loading boxcars. As it was piece work, Papa would always talk about how hard you really had to work and produce to make a decent wage. In 1971 Enrico and Anna Maria moved to Burnaby where their children had settled and he then went to work for his son Angelo and son-in-law Camillo. The family was able to give Papa his wish to pass away at home and this was all because of his most devoted & wonderful home care workers to whom we are eternally grateful. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:00pm at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby, B.C. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Holy Cross Church, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, B.C. Following the Mass, please come and help celebrate his life with a glass of wine and share wonderful memories at Lochdale Hall, 490 Sperling Avenue, Burnaby, B.C. Following reception, entombment will follow at Ocean View Burial Park, the Abbey, 4000 Imperial Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Burnaby Hospital Foundation or to the Alzheimer's Society.
