We met in our honeymoon tour to Europe 16 years ago by chance. We become friends by choice and we brought more memories in Otaru and at my home before you returned to Vancouver. Eugene, you will be missed forever. RIP…

You played a significant role in my start career at CIBC. I will never forget when you drove me and my girlfriend home after my first picnic with the Kingsway & Knight Community. You were a kind, supportive boss I ever had. 

Thank you for being such a wonderful mentor, friend and colleague. You will always be remembered and deeply missed.

Eugene, it was my greatest fortune to have you as my leader in my early career life.  I still remember the day you called me for 30 mins, then, said “join in my team”.  Since then, the door opened. You are my 伯樂 who offered the opportunity to discover my talents. 

You were also an excellent friend who was cheerful and supportive.  I will miss the smile and laughter I used to get every day,  since you were sitting right across my office.

I know you are well taken care by good hands now. May your soul rest in peace.

Eugene and I were  high school friends, but we lost contact after he had to leave for Richmond High due to the restructure of the school boundaries. After 20+ years, we met each other again when one of our common friends came back to Hong Kong for a visit. We then found out that we work in the same building but for different companies. After he moved back to Vancouver, Eugene insisted on having dinner with me  every year when I am back in Vancouver for a visit. 
He is a kind and happy person, and I will miss you bro. RIP Eugene.

I haven’t been in touch with Eugene for a long time but I still remember the good days we were at JNB.  You are a fun guy.  So shocked to hear this sad news in the new year.   Condolences to your family.  RIP.

I recall the countless nights we spent in Mimi’s house, where it was just us, laughing and drinking, living life to the fullest. Those nights were filling with laugher, tears and the kind of conversations that only true friends can have. They all come rushing back, filling our hearts with both joy and sorrow. We can’t help but smile through tears. We miss you, Gene. We miss the sound of your voice, your sunshine smile, and the way you could cheer up everyone. Until we meet again, our dearest brother, know that you are loved beyond words and missed more than you could ever imagine. We will raise a glass to you 🥃 , to the good times, and to the indelible marks you left in our lives. Your spirit will continue to live on in our hearts forever.

You never failed to put in your best effort in everything that you do. I once joked that you stayed overnight in office to finished your work because you were wearing the same shirt when I saw you the day before. You laughed and the next day you immediately pointed out to me that you are wearing a different shirt. I will miss you and thank you for being such a wonderful colleague and caring friend. I am sure you are in the good hands of the Lord our God.

Dawn and Emma made us friends. Having the same wedding anniversary date connected us, and gave us a chance to hang out without the kids. We enjoyed your humour and appreciated your genuineness. We will meet again.

We were all Burnett classmates. Eugene is always a funny guy since day 1. Even we are not that closed, we are friends. After moved back to Vancouver four years ago, we had chance to meet up a few times to hang out and chat.

Eugene is a 義氣仔女，always be supportive to his friends. Thanks for being my friend and it’s my pleasure to be your HH buddies. I won’t forget those memories we shared.

Didn't take me long to find this photo ...  You are such a good father and a good friend. You will be forever missed. Don't worry too much. Your family will be taken care of by the God. May you rest in peace.

I searched for photos of the good times with Eugene, but they seem to have been lost in the shuffle of time. I met Eugene when he was still a teenager, through Wendy, and have fond memories of a young, bright soul who was always energetic and full of life.

The news hit me like a brick. Although our paths diverged after his high school years, I will always cherish those memories.

Eugene, you will forever remain in my heart.

In high School, in Hong Kong and back here in Vancouver we kept meeting each other in different time and places since 1995 and don’t worry bro, one day we will see each other again in heaven for sure. Rest in peace.

Thank you for giving me advices all the time even though we never work in the same branch.  Your words will always be in my mind.

I felt very sorry I did not spend time with you much even though I got  chances to do so.  Thank you God for giving us a chance to meet in Japan 3 months ago.
From now on, there is another meaning for the place Shinjuku.

再見了兄弟 來生在見

I still vividly remember the first time we met at the Kingsway and Knight branch. You were always the first one to arrive at the branch and the last one to leave at night, setting the example for all of us. Form very start, you played such an important role in my early career at CIBC. 

I will never forget when I had rash on my hands one day, you didn’t hesitate to go all the way to Costco after work to get me CeraVe cream and made sure to bring it to me the very next morning. That gesture is just one of many ways you showed your care and kindness. I always knew I could rely on you, no matter what challenges I faced at work.

You were a kind soul- always positive, always supportive- I will truly miss our lighthearted joke, our bickering, and the countless conversations about life and my career. Thank you for being such a wonderful mentor, friend and colleague. You will always be remembered and deeply missed.
