Florence Myrtle Balogh

She was 84 years old. Florence is survived by her daughter Brenda Balogh, son Allan Balogh, grandchildren Jordan and Madelyn Balogh, and a great grandson Salem plus the extended Durakovic family.

Florence was born on August 31, 1939 close to Windthorst Saskatchewan. She married Bruce Balogh in Victoria B.C. in 1959. After moving to British Columbia, she had 2 children Brenda and Allan, and lived in North Surrey B.C.

Florence was accomplished at curling and won several Curling Trophies. In addition, she was an avid Gardener and often helped her daughter with gardening and always had flowers growing on her balcony. She loved animals, especially cats.

After her retirement from Burnaby Hospital, she continued to work there as a volunteer in the Gift Store. She has volunteered many times including at the 201 o Olympics. She taught English to Chinese students, and she was an active and dedicated member of the Nelson Avenue Community Church. In retirement, Florence travelled to Europe, China and Australia with her many friends and family.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 :00pm on Saturday April 20th, 2024 at the Nelson Avenue Community Church at 5825 Nelson Avenue, Burnaby, B.C., Pastor Johannes Schouten will officiate the ceremony.
