

Frank passed away peacefully on March 20, 2012 at the age of 95 yrs. in Burnaby General Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents Frank E. Chambers & Jane (Ruthven); the love of his life, his wife Frances (Oldfield) and his sister Martha Starratt. He is survived by his children Wenda Pickles (Ken), Murray Chambers (Cathy); grandchildren Michael Warner (Rhonda), Marla Androsoff (Kirk), Lauren Chambers; great-grandchildren; Joshua Ekroth, Jonathan & Tyler Warner, Bret Shields, Cole, Alexia & Ashlyn Androsoff, many nieces and a nephew. Frank was born and raised in Vancouver & worked for many years with the City of Vancouver Roads Department. He led an active life pursuing all his favorite things. He was a member of the Vancouver Fish & Game Club, Confederation Wood Carvers & Burnaby Laphounds & Wood Carving. He was an avid wood carver, camper, fisherman (Poett’s Nook & many B.C. lakes). He was a world traveler on cruise ships. Frank also enjoyed participating in the activities at his care home especially the outings in the rental bus. To celebrate Frank’s life, a tea will be held at the Confederation Community Centre, 4585 Albert St., Bby., B.C. on April 15, 2012 from 1 – 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Willingdon Care Centre, 4435 Grange, Bby., B.C. V5H 1P4 towards purchasing their own outing bus for the residents would be appreciated and/or plant a tree to help ensure sufficient wood for future carvers.
