It is with deep sadness to share that Frank Weima has passed away after a hard-fought nine-month battle with lung and kidney cancer. Born in Sarnia, Ontario in 1954, Frank was able to light up every room with his easy sense of humor, often making people laugh with his quick one-liners. Those that knew Frank will remember him for his steadiness and strength, quiet determination, and his enjoyment and appreciation of every little moment in nature or around the dinner table.
With broken hearts, Frank leaves behind his beloved wife of 33 years, Raffaela Weima (née Manzo), whom he looked at with as much adoration in his final days as he did their first days together. His eldest daughter, Tiana (Chris) Morrison, and youngest daughter, Bianca Weima. In his final years, Frank looked forward to spending time with his grandson, Landon Morrison. There was nothing more joyous to him than playing baseball or hockey with his grandson.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Jane Weima as well as his beloved father-in-law, Benito Manzo. He leaves behind brothers Robert (Jenny) and Richard (Lisa) Weima as well as his sister, Diane Weima. He was a devoted son-in-law to Adele Manzo as well as loving brother-in-law to Aldina Graziano, Aniello (Diane) Manzo and Maria (Ken) Michayluk as well as many nieces and nephews who will deeply cherish the memory of his smile and constant laughter.
Frank will be remembered in the quiet, appreciative moments of everyday life. Every hot cup of coffee, every long, winding drive. He was a steady, warm, kind man and an exceptional husband and father. His funeral service will be held at St. Helens Church on Wednesday, March 11th at 11:00AM.
Frank’s wish was in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Megaphone (Hope in Shadows), a charity in Vancouver that Frank’s youngest daughter works with: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/hope-in-shadows/
