Frederick Ronald Tyler Kampel-Sierolawski

February 6, 1987 - June 10, 2013

Frederick, our enigmatic, energetic son was taken from us suddenly on June 10, 2013. He was a cherished son, grandson, nephew and cousin; devoted older brother of Trent; organizer of numerous music events in both Calgary and Vancouver; and loyal friend to many.

Frederick was born in Burnaby, BC in 1987 and spent the first twelve years of his life there, moving to Calgary with his family in 1999. This past winter of 2013 he commenced studies at Mount Royal University with the goal of becoming a social worker.

Frederick had a passion for people, connecting personally or by social media with hundreds from all walks of life offering unconditional acceptance, generosity, love and support, no matter who they were or where they came from. He had a broad and eclectic interest in music, which he shared with his friends at concerts, festivals and events where he often performed as a DJ.

Traveling was also a lifelong passion for Frederick, his adventures leading him throughout Canada, United States and Europe. Everywhere he went he enjoyed connecting with the locals and especially their unique regional cuisine.

He is survived by his parents – Kate Kampel and Bill Sierolawski; his brother Trent Kampel-Sierolawski; his grandmother Margaret Kampel; his aunts and uncles Alan Sierolawski, Grant Taylor, Lorna Sierolawski, Michael Kampel & (Anne Birch), Donald & Sherry Kampel, Leonard & Irene Kampel, Claudio Berto & Theresa Kampel, David & Rose Kampel, Stuart & Lisa Kampel and other cherished relatives.

Flowers are gratefully declined; if so desired, donations may be made at the service or thereafter toward a scholarship fund to be created in Frederick’s name at Mount Royal University.
