Gail was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 11, 1946 and peacefully passed away on the morning of September 15, 2025 after a valiant battle with cancer. Gail is predeceased by her loving husband, Neil, her mother Joan, and her dad, Robert. A deeply cherished mother to her son Neil Jr. (Sendy), and her daughter Cheryl (Allan). She leaves behind five grandchildren, William (Jordan), Peter, Alex, Trevor (Sam), Veronica; and her three great-grandchildren, Ivy, Zach, and Joleen. Her two sisters, Sharon (Glen), Linda (Jake), will also miss her dearly; as well as numerous friends and family.
Growing up in Vancouver under difficult circumstances, mom quit school in grade 6 to work at Clancy’s, where she would meet her future husband, Neil. They married in 1963, and two children followed shortly after. She was a natural born caretaker, which shaped the foundation of her future existence. Mom devoted her life to her husband and two children, always making sure everyone was taken care of before herself.
Known for her green thumb, she meticulously maintained her lawn and garden. Mom established an open door policy, ensuring her home was a welcome place for all; hosting numerous New Year’s Eve celebrations and memorable parties throughout the years. Mom played a pivotal role in facilitating her children’s extracurricular activities throughout the years by organizing fundraisers, holding barbeques, and so much more.
To her joy, Mom became a grandmother at the young age of 46, which allowed her to dote on her grandchildren unconditionally. Her caretaking days didn't end there as she was further blessed with three great-grandchildren who once more brought light, life, and love into her home.
After her cancer diagnosis, her family came together to surround her with the same love and care that she so effortlessly raised us with throughout the years.
Mom, you were the matriarch of our family and you forged a strong foundation for us to build our families on. Our mom’s legacy of love, strength, wisdom, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th at 1pm at Forest Lawn. Followed by a celebration of life at her daughter’s home.
