Born in Aiello Calabro Italy to the late Pasquale and Isabella Bernardo-Ciddio, Genoveffa is affectionately survived by her husband Francesco and her three daughters Maria (Mario), Anna (Massimo) and Francesca (Branko). She leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Claudia, Antonio, Michael, Paolina, Brandon and Dylan and 6 great-grandchildren Alia (13), Ava (12), Rocco (12), Nella (11), Alex (10) and Bianca (4).
Those that knew Genoveffa knew she loved to cook her traditional Italian specialties (Arancini, meatballs, parmigiana to name a few) to share with those who surrounded her table. The pride she had for her family was unwavering and she smiled when she had all her family around her, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Genoveffa had a remarkable sense of humor and feist that warmed the room. Bold and loving all at the same time. We will find peace in continuing to honor her legacy with the treasured traditions she left behind.
Catholic Funeral and Burial will be held at Oceanview Chapel and Cemetery at 4000 Imperial Street Burnaby, BC on Wednesday September 22nd at 10:30AM. Social distancing protocols and masks will be mandatory in the chapel and entombment will be immediate family only due to limited capacity. The funeral service will be available to be livestreamed for those around the world wishing to watch from the comfort of their homes.
The family would like to take this time to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and support during this difficult time.
Genoveffa loved flowers and always had fresh flowers in her home, it would brighten our hearts to know that you share in the celebration of her life by enjoying a pink or yellow rose in your own home to honor her memory in lieu of flowers for the family.
