Born in Vancouver, interned in Slocan, and after marrying Maureen on January 7, 1956 settled in Golden where all 5 children were born. In 1972 the family relocated to Burnaby where George and Maureen lived for 49 years until they moved to Mulberry Parc an independent retirement home. George worked in the lumber industry and worked for Evans Products in Golden and then Lumberland in Burnaby for over 20 years and retired in 1993.
In his retirement, George and Maureen loved to travel and visited many places around the globe. George also loved to garden and took pride in all the beautiful plants, shrubs and trees in their yard. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports and remained active well into his late 80’s walking and tracking his 10,000 plus steps a day!
George was described as a kind, warm hearted, generous, and funny person, who always had a smile. George’s ashes were inured on April 24, 2024, at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family celebrated his life on April 26 with close family and relatives. He will be dearly missed by all.
