Giovanni Bevilacqua

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and patriarch of our family. Giovanni (John) passed away on November 27, 2021 at the age of 85 with his children by his side. John is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Emma, daughter Fortunata (Mike) son Pino (Samantha), his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Carissa, Gino and Bianca. Brothers Umberto (Lucy), Palmo (Rosa), Tony (Sonia); sisters Elida (Mario) and Patricia; sisters-in-law Domenica (Donato) and Randi (Fred) brother-in-law Giuseppe (Lina), many nieces, nephews and cousins. John is predeceased by his sisters Carmelina and Lina and brothers Donato and Fred.

Born in Altilia Cosenza, Italy, John was the eldest of 10 children. He was an amazing person who was loved and respected by all. Such a hard working man and always there to help everyone.

Aside from his family his passions were gardening, winemaking and interested in reading maps and geography of the world.

Our hearts are broken and no words can describe the pain of losing you. Thank you dad for everything and for teaching us to be kind to everyone. Rest in eternal peace.

A funeral mass will take place Wednesday, December 8. 2021 at 10:00 am, Our Lady of Sorrows Church 555 Slocan Street Vancouver, BC. Entombment to follow at 11:30 am at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby. For everyone's safety, we are asking only vaccinated guests attend the Funeral Mass.
