Helen Cupich

Helen (Jele) Cupich (née Pusic) is predeceased by her husband, John (Ivo) Cupich (1905-2005) and siblings, Niko, Vlaho, Pero, Pave, Nike and Ivo. She is survived by daughter, Stella Federico, granddaughters, Michelle (Tony), Carole (George), Christin (Brendon), and Kim, sister-in-law, Kate Pusic, and many nieces and nephews, both in Canada and Croatia.

Helen, the youngest of seven children, married John in Croatia in 1950, had her daughter in 1951 and emigrated to Canada in 1953 for a better life, settling in Richmond. Over the years, additional family members joined them in Canada and the family flourished. Helen enjoyed a long and happy retirement with her husband and spent her free time gardening, reading, and visiting with family and friends. Incredibly considerate and blessed with a bright outlook, Helen will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, positivity, and welcoming smile.

Her family would like to thank her physician, Dr. Leslie Cohen, the staff at the Richmond Hospital and the Rotary Hospice House for their excellent care.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on May 11th at 10:00 am at Ocean View Chapel (Burnaby, BC) with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rotary Hospice House, in Richmond, BC.
