It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of husband, father and grandfather Herb on November 4th, 2013. Predeceased by father Dick Jong, mother Mabel and siblings: Howard, Beatrice, Marge and Ina. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet, sons: Steven, Kenneth (Nathalie), Jason (Melissa), daughter Darlene (Greg), grandchildren: Jennifer, Caitlin, Brandon, Cameron, Sarah and Emma, siblings: Hazel, Mamie, Cecile (Jim), Doug (June) and many nieces and nephews. After spending a beautiful fall day walking hand in hand with his loving wife, Herb passed away suddenly at the age of 77. He will be fondly remembered by the many people whose lives he touched. His outgoing nature and willingness to help others will remain in their memories forever. A service will be held on Monday November 18th at 1:00pm at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
