Hon Kuen Stephen Wong

Stephen was born in Hong Kong on February 13, 1940 as the eldest son of Cheuk Wong and Sau Chung Chan. He worked as a seafarer manager and met his wife, Pauline, in the late 1960s. They and their two sons, Anselm and Alfred, immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1987 where he worked in catering services at UBC hospital until his retirement in 2002. Stephen and Pauline enjoyed traveling and vacationed in the US, Europe and Southeast Asia. After his retirement, he started swimming regularly and taking care of his granddaughters, Bernice and Kristen. Stephen also enjoyed cooking and eating both western and Asian foods, and especially loved eating seafood.

He leaves behind his wife, Pauline; his sons, Anselm and Alfred; his daughter-in-laws, Pearl and Sybel; and his granddaughters, Bernice, Kristen and Scarlett. He also leaves behind his siblings including his brother, Tom; his sisters, Alice, Esther, Vivian, May, and Dorothy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, US, and Hong Kong.

A visitation for family will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 7pm to 9pm at Ocean View Funeral Home while the funeral will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 10am at Ocean View Funeral Home.

A luncheon will be held at 1pm at Sun Sui Wah Seafood Restaurant following the burial on Sunday. Please contact the family if you would like to attend - all family and friends are welcome.
