Hop Che was born around November 5, 1935, the tenth child of her parents. Being the youngest, she recalled fondly of her time with her father in having dim sum daily and watched him writing calligraphy. She valued reading newspaper by observing her father. It was her hobby in collecting newspaper cuttings on traditional Chinese herbs for decades. She valued good health; she exercised daily for decades and prepared traditional Chinese herbal soups. She remembered the quiet demeanor and hardworking of her mother. She wished having the opportunities to learn about the traditional recipes on homemade sauces from her mother. She was grateful that her father sent her to school.
She was full of curiosity. She was observant and tender hearted towards dogs and cats. She recalled growing up with them. She observed birds in the sky and plants around her.
Courageously she went to Hong Kong as a teenage to establish a life. She overcome challenges with perseverance. She was a mother of three sons and a daughter. In difficult life circumstances, she demonstrated her commitment to support each child in overcoming each one’s difficulty and had a future. Her love is still alive in each of her children. Her sweetest moments in life were with her grandson. Bravely, she chose to live in Canada and found her way around. She made the best of her circumstances.
She enjoyed travelling with her children and with her friends. She was well-loved.
