October 9, 1922December 15, 2012

Johanna was received into the loving arms of her Saviour on December 15, 2012. She joins her beloved husband of 60 years Rev. Lorne Nadiger Sr. who passed into his heavenly home in 2006. She is survived by her son Lorne Jr. (Patricia); daughter Joanna (Stewart); grandson Joel (Tamara); great grandson Jacob; and sister Enid (Erwin). Johanna was born October 9, 1922 in Inglis, Manitoba and worked as a doctor's receptionist for several years before marrying. She faithfully served alongside her husband as Pastor's wife in many congregations in Manitoba, BC, Oregon and Washington. Johanna loved worshipping with her church family at First Lutheran. She kept active with frequent strolls to her neighborhood Starbucks on her scooter or walker. She enjoyed visiting with friends at Confederation House, playing the piano, and especially loved spending time with family. Johanna was a beloved friend to many who enjoyed her cheerfulness and friendliness, and will be deeply missed. A Christian Memorial Service will be held at Forest Lawn Chapel, 3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby, on Monday, December 24 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Johanna's memory to Canadian Lutheran World Relief, 302-393 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 3H6.

To Johanna's family

My name is Liz and although you do not know me I wanted to send my heartfelt condolences to you all. I was one of the volunteer drivers for the City of Burnaby who drove your Mom to Confederation, for the Thursday lunch program. She was a dear lady and we always talked about, among other things, my taking up Piano at an older age. She was impressed so that made me feel so very good. She was special and you were truly blessed to have had her for so many years. The slide show was a wonderful tribute and I wish you all the very best.

Dear Cousins,
Please know that you are in our prayers and thoughts. Though we don't see much of one another, we've always had regular updates because of the close relationship between your Mom and ours! In the last few years I was lucky enough to have a couple of visits with my Aunt Jo on my business trips to Vancouver. And even though my phone calls came out of the blue, with no warning, she was most welcoming and over the top in her hospitality! We will all miss her.
With love and sympathy,
Ruth (Mack), Rob, Colin & Thomas McCosh (Calgary)

Dear Joanne,Stewart, Joel and family,Bud and Pat,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Aunt Jo always lead by example and her strong faith was always so evident. We enjoyed our visit with her back in 2009 and we were impressed by her amazing memory and her ability to stay connected with family. She was very proud of all of you. She welcomed us into her condo with open arms and was always so genuine.
