John Allesia

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Allesia on September 9th, 2015 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. John was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on July 21st, 1924. He met the love of his life, Mary Harder, roller skating and they came to Vancouver, BC on their honeymoon. They went on to settle in Vancouver. Mom predeceased Dad in 1993. He is happy and with her now. Predeceased by sister Victorine (Gus). Survived by his children Suzanne (Peter), Bob (Vicki), Maureen (Gordon) and Mark (Margaret). Grandchildren Rina (Todd), Dave (Joanne), Kerianne (Sean), Nick, Kyle (Stephanie), Jodi and Katie. Great grandchildren David, Annika and Dylan. Special thanks to the amazing staff at Royal Arch Masonic Home who have cared for and loved him the past ten years. A funeral service will be held on Thursday September 24th, 2015 at 10.00am at Ocean View Funeral Home 4000 Imperial Street in Burnaby. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
