Julie Hwa Lai Lee was born in Taiwan on March 1, 1957. When she was just a few years old, she moved to Hong Kong with her mother, Ho Ying Wong. Her mom taught her very well and she became a very capable and thoughtful woman. During her studies, she was actively involved in providing private math tutoring. Through school and tutoring, she made many great friends who she had continued to keep in touch with.
During her university studies in the mathematics program, Julie met her husband, Wing Lok Lee. She gave birth to two daughters named Karen and Kelsey. After giving birth to Karen, the family decided to move to Vancouver in 1990 in hopes to have a better future for the family. It is in Vancouver where the whole family got to know Christ and accepted Jesus as their Savior. Julie was able to experience God’s love for her during her time here and often commented on how fortunate and thankful she was.
Julie worked for different companies until two years ago, when she had the opportunity to pursue her dream and become a realtor. Many of her clients loved her as they felt that she completed her responsibilities whole-heartedly. In fact, many treated her as a friend as she treated each and every one of them with a sincere heart. She was a great daughter, wife, mother, coworker and friend. To many people, she was always a pleasant, sincere, caring, responsible, and determined woman.
Julie had a stroke and passed away peacefully at the Vancouver General Hospital on the morning of March 9, 2015. She was 58 years old. With the grace of God, Julie’s entire family was with her at the time of the incident and throughout her care at the hospital. Julie leaves behind many cherished memories. Everyone whose lives she touched will remember Julie dearly.
