Justina (Jo) Kornelson (nee Neufeld) passed away peacefully at Elim Village in Surrey, BC, on March 2nd, 2023, at 90 years of age. She was born on November 26, 1932, in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan. Jo was the fourth child out of twelve, born to Peter and Margaret Neufeld. She moved to BC in 1946 and later met her husband Nick in Yarrow, BC. They were married in 1956 and moved to Vancouver where they raised four daughters.
She spent many hours volunteering with MCC (for over forty years) and was very active in her church, loved to spend time bowling, playing Scrabble, puzzling, entertaining, singing in choirs, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jo lived a fulfilling life as an amazing wife to her late husband Nick, a loving mom, a caring sister, sister-in-law, aunt, grandma, great grandma, and friend. Jo brought joy into every aspect of her life and left a lasting, positive impact on people she met.
She is survived by her four daughters and their spouses, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, along with her five sisters, sister/brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Our heartfelt thanks to the many staff at Elim Village for their continued care, compassion, and love for Mom during her time in residence there.
