Carmen Poon, of Delta, B.C., was born on October 27, 1979 in Hong Kong, and passed away at Surrey Memorial Hospital on June 4, 2021 after a short illness. She first came to Canada at age 13 with her parents and older brother, settling first in Montreal and later in Toronto. Carmen attended Ryerson University majoring in retail management, after which she moved with her family to Vancouver in 2003. An intelligent and hardworking sales professional, Carmen started at the retailer Gymboree, followed by Tommy Hilfiger, in Burnaby’s Metrotown. For the last thirteen years, Carmen was employed by Coach, having worked at its five locations in Greater Vancouver, and was the store manager of Coach Tsawwanssen Mills at the time of her passing. Kind and caring, she was a beloved daughter and sister to her family, as well as an excellent colleague and a very dear friend to many.
Carmen is deeply missed by her father Ming Tak Poon and mother Oi Nui “Alice” Ma, as well as her older brother Philip and sister-in-law Shelly. They wish to thank all the relatives and friends for their sympathy and support.
