

Mrs. Katsuko Ishikawa, nee Kinjo, age 83 of Richmond, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2022. Katsuko was born March 6, 1939 in Okinawa, Japan. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Noboru (Nobby); her son, Chad; her sisters, Mitsuko, Fujiko (husband Toshiaki Nomada), Chieko and Tomoko; her brothers Isamu and preceded in death by Toshio. Her surviving in-laws are sister in law, Kaori Yano (husband Masaru) and her daughters, Sheridan Parke (husband Graham) and Jennifer Momotani (husband Glenn).
In August 1968, Katsuko was among the first group of people from Okinawa, Japan to qualify for non-sponsored immigration status into Canada.
She first lived in Vancouver.
She became a Canadian citizen on May 3, 1974.
She worked as a bookkeeper.
In July 1976, her family moved to Richmond.
