

At the age of 18, she moved to Hong Kong for a better life. There she met her husband, Kam Shi Kong and they were married in 1958. They opened a grocery store which also had a mini brewery for Chinese wine. To seek a better for the family of 7, she immigrated with the family to Vancouver in 1973. Throughout her career, she worked jobs as a seamstress, a dim sum chef, and a convenience storekeeper until retirement. In her spare time, she loved watching Chinese TV dramas and the Vancouver Canucks. Her gentle kindness and her devotion to her family will always be remembered.
Kim Hoi is survived by her husband Kam Shi Kong, her siblings, sisters Sik Yee Wong, Shun Yu Lei, and brother Ki Yam Lui, as well as her five children Lanna (Ed), Linda (Terry), Lorraine (Edward), Carlo, and Micky. She was loved by her grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Tristan Geoffrey, Sarah, Corrie, Aidan, Markus, and Claire. She is predeceased by sister Sik Sim Lau.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Heart & Stroke Foundation.
