Ken was born in the city of Zhong Shan in Quon Dong province of China. He was the second child born to Oi Ying Lau and Yoy Sum Lum and is survived by his older sister Elizabeth Low and younger brother Fred Lam.
After moving to Canada in 1968, Ken married the love of his life, Mabel in 1972. Ken was the proud owner and store keeper of Hazelmere Market in Surrey, BC. It is here where he worked hard and passionately to care for his family. For many of the clients, he will be remembered for his stern look and loud voice. For his family and close friends, however, he will be remembered for his loving care and unwavering dedication to his children and grandchildren. Ken loved his family deeply and was very proud of them for their accomplishments.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mabel, daughter Vivian, sons Felix and Oscar (Maura), and grandchildren, Lily, Nigel, and Kyler.
Ken enjoyed caring for his animals, watching Chinese shows and Jeopardy, and playing slot machines (even though he lost many times). After retirement, Ken loved spending time with his family.
