Koon Sing Low, aged 96 years, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home. Koon Sing Low was born in Guongdong,China. He moved to Fiji in 1947 to help his sister raise 6 young children and her restaurant. He met and married his wife Chai Ping on April 8, 1956. He continued to help his sister with the restaurant in Lautoka and then started his own bakery in Ba. He eventually moved to Vancouver in 1965 with his wife and three young daughters, Donna, Catherine and Margrat. He then had two more children, Phyllis and Jonathan. For 25 years, he worked as a Baker at Venice Bakery.
Koon Sing Low was dedicated to providing a good life for his family, relatives and friends. He was a humble, kind and a generous person with a Big heart. His children benefited from his love, guidance, generosity, and encouragement.
Koon Sing is lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Chai Ping; 5 children Donna (Wing), Catherine(Les), Margrat(Jerry), Phyllis(Ben) and Jonathan(Allie); 9 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Grace(Justin), Greg(Britney), Jordan(Jade), Hayley, Ryan, Trevor, Brendan and Emily; and his two great-grandchildren: Charles and Henry.
Sincere thanks to the Vancouver Coastal, Palliative Nurses and the Care Aids for their support and compassionate care. A special thanks to dad's Doctors - Dr. Tan and Dr. A. Chui for their attention and dedication to his wellbeing.
Thank you for all the people that have graced our Dad’s life. We will keep our memories of you alive. We love and miss you, dad!
