Kung Shun was born in 1940 into a family of fourteen. He passed his childhood during World War II so he did not have much education, having to repeat several years to complete primary school. But he worked hard and helped out in father's garment factory. In 1966 he came to Canada with our parents. For several years he worked as Chinese cook in small towns. But because of mental challenges, he had to stay on medication and live in Vancouver. A bachelor, he was usually quiet but liked to reply to greetings with the few English words that he knew. For a time, he was a volunteer and helped at a soup kitchen. He has drawn us closer together and gave us the opportunity to care for each other. May he rest in peace.
He is lovingly survived by his two sisters and eight brothers, and their families. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Wake will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Urn interment will take place on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 1:00 pm in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the section of 'Westview'.
