He is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Chin Miu Su Ming 陳繆紹明; children: Hedy 夏蒂, Raymond 厚樑and Ronald厚柱; son-in-law Sunny Cheng 鄭偉燊 and grandchildren: Angelina 恩恩and Kimberly 如如.
Chin Kung Ping 陳孔屏 was born in Canton, Guangdong Province, China on September 18, 1926 and later immigrated to Canada in his early 30s.
In 1960, he married his wife, Chin Miu Su Ming.Their daughter Hedy, was born in 1961 and then had their twin sons, Raymond and Ronald in 1963. He became a business owner with his wife working in the groceries, produce and flower business for 15 years owning 4 supermarkets. Their first supermarket was on Granville Street called SunOn Market. The second was called Fruit Centre on Victoria Drive, the third was in North Vancouver called Plowboy and they opened their fourth in New Westminster called 6 and 6 Produce before their retirement.
Kung Ping was a real gentlemen and he was always very courteous and appreciative to everyone that was around him. He was a kind gentle soul with a big heart and was also quite the character. He was funny, spoke his mind and in his spare time, he loved reading novels, playing mahjong and cards. He also enjoyed collecting stamps and collectible coins and had an undeniable love for coffee.
Thank you dad for the life you shared with us. We truly miss you and will love you forever.
A Celebration of Chin Kung Ping’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 10 a.m, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby BC. Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC.
