Leo Matusicky, born March 28, 1930 in Springfield, Louisiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 27, 2020 at the age of 89. He is predeceased by his wife Carol and survived by his children Joey and Cathy (Liam); his grandchildren Molly and Jack; sisters Ida and Angela; brother Daniel; and his extended family, including nieces, nephews and their families. Throughout his years as a teacher, Leo had a powerful impact on many, but his love of learning and thirst for knowledge also made him a student at heart. A true Renaissance man, Leo was many things to many people: teacher, scholar, inventor, gardener, philosopher, poet, artist, songwriter, historian, storyteller. But most of all, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and for a deep commitment to his faith. His tremendous spirit and sense of humour will be missed and forever celebrated. Please join us for services at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church at 1450 Delta Avenue in Burnaby at 12:30pm on Friday, March 13th.
