Mr. Leonard Lee

Leonard Lee, the beloved husband of Lily Lee, father of Patty, Dolores, Cynthia and Annabelle, grandfather of Athena, Jason, Dorothy and Timothy, great grandfather of Jayden and Jaysie is greatly missed by his passing at the age of 98, on Friday, January 19, 2024 in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Leonard was born in Jin Jiang city, Fujian province of China.

Leonard moved to Hong Kong in his teenage and finished high school in La Salle College, after that he pursued his undergraduate degree at the University of Philippines. He became a high school physics and mathematics teacher. He got married to Lily in 1953 in Manila. The young family with three daughters moved back to Hong Kong in 1960, with the fourth daughter Annabelle later born in Hong Kong. Leonard enjoyed his teaching career and maintained close relationships with his mother and sibling families. After retirement he moved to Canada in 1994 with Lily, and later on his two daughters’ families also followed him to live in Canada.

Leonard was a very easy going gentleman, with an open mind and a compassionate heart, very considerate and never have a temper. He was a typical scholar who loved reading books and newspaper everyday. He impressed people with his warm friendly smile and jokes. In his final years living in the care home, he stayed cheerful even though he missed living with his family. All nursing staff liked him because he always entertain them with his sweet flirty greetings, foreign language compliments and jokes. He even managed to sing the melody of ‘ Oh, My Darling Clementine’ whenever he felt good. He was very much loved by his direct and extended families. He has certainly lived a long healthy, smooth and joyful life.

Leonard’s spirit is now forever free from the physical bondage. He shall continue his new journey in a higher dimension where there is only peace and bliss. We bless him well with our deepest love and hugs.

A visitation for Leonard will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Jade Room in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G3M1.

A reception will be held after the visitation from 6:30 pm at Joyful Seafood Restaurant at 5665 Kingsway #150, Burnaby.

A committal service will occur Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G3M1.
