

Linda Yee Heung Wong was born on December 1, 1931 to Yuen Wah Chew and Yuen Louie Hong Ho. She had three siblings, two older sisters and a younger brother. Growing up in the village of Dai Tong Ngau Lou in Taishan County, she enjoyed a carefree life and was much loved by her father, a successful banker. Linda attended Xing Hua Secondary School, a renowned school in the district, where she formed many good friendships. It was also there that she met Robert Wong for the first time.
Amidst rising political unrest, the Yuen family left China to come to Vancouver, Canada in 1955. Shortly after arriving, Linda became reacquainted with Robert Wong. They quickly fell in love and were married on December 12, 1955. Although Linda and Robert began with very little financial means, they worked hard to support their family and became very successful in their business endeavors.
All her life, Linda was a loving mother and homemaker. She had two daughters and three sons early in her marriage. She spent much of her life tending to their physical needs and teaching them many important life lessons. She learned to cook delicious meals and keep the house in order for a growing family.
Linda was also a very intelligent businesswomen and a hard worker. In the early years of her marriage, she independently tended to the family grocery store. Later on, she helped her husband with important financial decisions in the acquisition of different commercial and residential properties
In their retirement years, Linda and Robert enjoyed a very healthy and active social life. They travelled with friends to many international destinations such as Taiwan, China, Australia, Cuba, Vietnam and the Caribbean. In Vancouver, they made many friends and participated in the Vancouver Luk Tung Kuen Club, an exercise club with hundreds of members.
Linda and Robert enjoyed the successive arrival of five grandchildren beginning in the 1990s. Linda loved cooking for them, playing with them and going on outings with them. The grandchildren have many good memories of visits to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Linda and Robert also enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren where they lived in Calgary and Bangladesh, and travelling with them. Some memorable trips include a cruise to Alaska and trips back to Taishan China, where the children and grandchildren could learn about their family heritage. In the past two years, Linda especially enjoyed visits from her great granddaughter, Olivia. Even as she struggled with cancer in her last year of life, she showed love and affection for her family and her caregivers. She passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025 at the age of 94. Her family will miss her dearly.
Linda is survived by her husband, Robert; five children, Doris (Leo), Kent (Susan), Dennis (Sylvia), Judy and Robert (Gloria); five grandchildren, Christine (Paul), Kelly (Jeff), Erika, Hewitt and Hannah; one great granddaughter, Olivia and two additional great grandchildren to arrive this year.

在退休之後,他們夫婦兩人 享受著非常健康和活躍的社交生活。他們與朋友到許多國際目的地旅行,例如台灣、中國、澳洲、古巴、越南和加勒比海。在溫哥華,他們參加了溫哥華六通拳會,一個有數百會員的運動俱樂部,因而結交了許多朋友。
從 1990 年代開始,黃夫婦 相繼有了五個孫兒。黃女士 喜歡為他們做飯,及與他們一起玩耍,和他們一起出遊。孫子們常到祖父母家作客,留下很多美好的回憶。黃夫婦也很喜歡到卡加利和孟加拉去探望兒女及孫子們,並與他們一起旅行。一些令人難忘的旅行包括阿拉斯加的郵輪之旅,以及回到中國台山的旅行。在那裡,兒女和孫子們可以了解他們的家族歷史。過去兩年,黃女士 特別喜歡曾孫女 Olivia 來探望她。即使她在生命的最後一年與癌症掙扎,她仍對家人和照顧她的人表現出愛與親情。她於 2025 年 4 月 3 日安然離世,享年 94 歲。
