Louisa passed away peacefully in the early evening of Thursday, April 16th, 2026. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Janet and Bruno (Bobbi); grandsons, Darcy and Travis; sister, Silvana in Austria, and brother, Romano in France; in-laws, Ken and Joanne; and many other friends and extended family in Canada, Italy, and across Europe. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nadia in 2005, and her husband, Primo in 2017.
Louisa immigrated to Canada in 1958 and married Primo that same year. They started their life together in North Burnaby and lived in the same house together for over 50 years. Louisa took great pleasure in tending to her vegetable and flower garden and had a true passion for cooking, often sharing her meals with those she loved. She enjoyed singing in the choir for many years, bowling with the ladies, and spending time with family and friends at picnics in Confederation Park, where lively games of bocce were always a highlight. She especially cherished time spent with her two grandsons, who brought her so much joy and laughter.
In 2019, she moved to Chartwell Carlton and became a part of the community there, where she enjoyed day trips and social events, and continued her love of gardening on the rooftop.
The family would like to thank everyone at the Burnaby Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their kindness, care, and support during Louisa’s illness. At her request, there will be a private service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Children’s Hospital.
Rest in peace, Mom. You are loved and cherished by all who knew you.
