We are saddened to announce the death of Luigi Chies. Born in Cordignano, Treviso, Italy in 1926, he passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023 in Vancouver, BC. Luigi arrived in Canada in 1958 and was followed shortly after by his fiancée Genoveffa. A devoted husband of 63 years, father and nonno, he is pre-deceased by his wife Genoveffa, survived by his children Elvio, Dina (Alan) and Dino (Gail), grandchildren Danielle and Nicholas and relatives in Italy and Canada. He loved spending time with his family and friends, working in his garden and in his basement workshop. Special thanks to his doctors, home care workers and the staff at VGH and Purdy Pavillion at UBC for their care during the last weeks. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
