It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Mary White, who left us peacefully at home in Vancouver on July 22, 2025, at the age of 100.  

She leaves behind her heartbroken daughters, Marilyn and Sharon, her loving sister, Pamela Weseen, many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends, and three devoted little dogs, Corkie, Francie and Otis, who adored their Granny as much as she adored them.  Her family was always very dear to her.

Born on February 10, 1925, in Kelowna and raised on the family ranch in Westbank, Mary left home as a teenager to attend UBC where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Social Work.  She met her future husband, Cyril White, while at UBC.  They made a wonderful life together in Vancouver, with Marilyn and Sharon, dogs and hamsters, until his passing in 1986.  

In 1990, she was elected Most Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star of British Columbia & Yukon.  The Order played a very important role in her life and she devoted herself to their many charitable activities.  She also made many wonderful friendships that she cherished. 

A special thank you to Tecy, Kay, Mary and Pramisha and Dr. Mona Maleki whose love and care enabled her to live at home with us, and for that, we are forever grateful.
