Man Fong Grace Louie

Man Fong Grace Louie, beloved mother, grandmother and wife, passed away peacefully in Richmond, BC on Friday, August 12, 2022. Grace was born in Hong Kong on December 24, 1949. She was the second of eight children born to Chun Lan and Yick Cheung, and spent her childhood dedicated to helping support her family.

In 1971, Grace married Melvin and moved to Canada, where the culture, quietness of the prairies and cold winters came as a shock. As with all things, she tackled these challenges with courage, determination, and pure grace. She was a loving and selfless mother and wife, with a pervasive habit of putting the needs of others before her own. When she wasn’t doting on her family, Grace enjoyed knitting, qi gong, line dancing, yoga, gossiping with her friends and sisters, and shopping for bargains.

Grace will be lovingly remembered by her husband: Melvin, daughters: Beayue and Beajay (Shervin), grandchildren: Kiana and Jian, uncle: Fred, cousins: Krista, Patrick (Miriam) and Emil, mom: Chun Lan, and siblings: Betty, Mimosa, Larra, Chamade and Calvin.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be made to the BC Cancer Foundation in Grace’s honour.
