Manuel Capellan Mendoza

Manuel Mendoza was born in Masbate Philippines on June 17, 1936. He was predeceased by his parents, Herminildo and Leonora, brothers Filemon Mendoza (Lydia) and Augusto (Lina).

Dad started his career as a chemical engineer. On June 20, 1970, Manuel married Pilar and enjoyed of 51 years of togetherness. He will be sadly missed by his two children, John and Paul (Shun Ting).

Even in retirement, Dad enjoyed tennis, reading and travelling around the world. He will be well remembered for his many years of volunteer service at St. Mary’s Parish Church in Vancouver and his energy and vigor for life.

Special thanks to the B.C. Cancer Clinic for their care and support of Manuel. In addition, our deep appreciation to Evergreen Community Health Centre for their professional services which made it possible for Manuel to stay in his own home until the end.

Viewings will occur at Ocean View Funeral Home in Burnaby, BC on Monday, February 28th and then at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 1st respectively. A funeral mass will be celebrated on March 1, 2022 at 11 am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 5251 Joyce Street, Vancouver, B.C., V5R 4G8, or online at stmarysvancouver.ca .
