A loving husband, father and Papa to his family: wife, Mila; children, Mil (Brad), Marian (Reg), and Marvin (Mya); grandchildren - Jade, Calle, Nyla, Kaitlin, Tyler, Julian, Kyla and Coen; his brother, Dino (Merly); and, many nieces and nephews. He will be lovingly remembered by them all.
Manny and his wife of fifty years, Mila, along with their two daughters, Milagros and Marian, emigrated to Canada in 1975, settling in Winnipeg, MB. His son, Marvin, was born there. They raised their family in Winnipeg for twelve years and then moved to beautiful B.C. in 1987. They resided in Surrey with all three children graduating and eventually starting families of their own in the Lower Mainland. Manny and Mila moved to the Tri-Cities in 2010, living in Coquitlam, Anmore, and most recently, in Port Coquitlam.
Manny enjoyed golfing, gardening and fixing absolutely anything that needed fixing but his favourite thing to do was to spend time with his family. He and Mila shared the family barbeques, get togethers in the backyard, holiday events and his many days spent at the lake in Osoyoos with his beloved family at his side.
He was always eager and readily available for any of the family or his friends if anyone needed anything. He taught the family much over the years - golfing, fishing, gardening, boating and 'how to fix things'.
Manny and Mila travelled annually to the Philippines where his original family bonds were kept strong - reconnecting with his family and his roots while helping others less fortunate whenever he could. As well, through the years he was able to bring some of his family from Canada to visit the Philippines and proudly showed us all 'his' country while teaching and sharing the culture and traditions of his origin.
Manny’s children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. His favourite moments were always when he was surrounded with kids, lots of laughter and light hearted moments. 'The more the merrier' could not ring more true than it did for Manny.
Manny will be sadly missed, never replaced and never ever forgotten by us all.
A private funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption in Port Coquitlam.
His last day on earth was his first day in heaven.
