Maria Cabrera Geronimo

Maria Geronimo was born in Manila, Philippines to the late Eulogia and Felix Cabrera on December 4th, 1941. Maria was the middle child of 9 siblings (Marina, Antonio, Ligaya, Arthur, Carmen, Felix, Corazon, and Vicente Carlos). Through strength and courage, she left home and immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1972 to help support the family and start a better life.

Maria worked her entire career in the travel agency industry and retired from BCAA in 2003 after working as a travel agent for 30 years. She earned a scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce at the University of the East in Manilla. She also earned a 2-year vocational course as an Associate in Commerce. She enjoyed gardening, watching singing competition shows, and filipino movies.

Maria will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Tomas, only son Jonathan, daughter-in-law Claire, and her three loving grandchildren, Ethan, Ryan and Maeghan whom she adored so much. She was a dedicated mother/grandmother first and foremost. She was a loving and proud mother to Jonathan “Jon Jon” and always wanted the best for her son. She treasured her three grandchildren and embraced every moment with them.

A visitation for Maria will be held Monday, July 19, 2021 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G3M1.

A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at St. Jude Parish, 3078 Renfrew St,, Vancouver, BC V5M 3K6.

A graveside service will occur Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G3M1.
