It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Maria passed away surrounded by her loving family. Born to parents Maria Assunta and Vincenzo Alfieri in Santa Croce di Magliano, CB, Italy. Moved to Vancouver in 1961. Predeceased by her husband Mario, brother Domenico Antonio and sister Elizabetta. Survived by son Giovanni (Filomena), daughter Ida (Salvatore); 7 grandchildren, Maria ( Mike), Teresa, Rosa(Daniel), Maria(Rick), Lisa, Mario and Grazia (Antonio); 4 great grandchildren, Gianni, Sienna, Victoria and Nicolas; her loving sister Ida (Giuseppe), many nieces, nephews and relatives in Montreal, Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton and Italy. Maria was known for her strong convictions, family values and love of gardening, baking and many crafts. She possessed inspirational qualities that all who knew her admired and loved her for. Her Catholic faith was her spiritual guide. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 PM on Thursday, Sept 22nd at St. Francis of Assisi 2025 Napier St, Vancouver where a Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Friday, Sept 23rd. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park Abbey Mausoleum 4000 Imperial St. .
