Zia Maria was sweet, kind and, although rather quiet most of the time, would often make me laugh the way she suddenly became animated telling one of her stories. She was also a wonderful cook, and we enjoyed many meals in her kitchen over the years. My husband, Dan, still raves about the first time he ate her lasagna -- the best he'd ever had!

My aunt was one of the most beautiful women I've known, and she remained that way in her later years. I will always remember her as a gentle soul with a mischievous smile that never failed to make me smile too.  

We will miss you Zia

I am so saddened by the news of the passing of (Zia Maria) your loving Mother.
I remember when I met her I instantly called her “Zia” because that’s how I felt as if she really was my aunt…she would have the biggest smile when I would look at her and call her that.  
There are no words I feel like could comfort you right now but our good Lord above knows all things and he will comfort us if only we seek and ask him…
You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers.
