Mrs. Marianne Evelyn Austin

July 6, 1916 - May 29, 2012

It is with great sadness and sense of loss that we announce the sudden, but peaceful passing, of Marianne Evelyn (Dolly) Austin nee Johnson at 2:35 a.m. on May 29, 2012. A woman of gracious spirit, Mom continued her life-long habit of putting others first. Mom was well-known for her commonsense, her creativity and her compassionate nature. Predeceased by her husband, Fred Austin, she leaves to mourn her sons, Charlie Austin (Geraldine) and Vic Austin (Lori), and her daughter, Ethel Kirkpatrick (Keith), her sister Doris Fraser, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as many other dear relatives and friends. She was a special lady with magic hands, whether making baking powder biscuits or soothing a fretful child. Her connections with people went deep and wide and she will be sorely missed. She made the world a better place by just being in it. A Memorial Service will take place on July 6, 2012 (Mom would have been 96 that day) at St. Andrew's United Church, 2318 St. Johns St., Pt Moody, B.C. at 2 p.m. You may leave a message by visiting the Forest Lawn website or there is also a Facebook memorial called Marianne Austin Memorial.
