Born in Castelsilano, Italy to the late Salvatore and Rosina Cristiano. Predeceased by her loving husband Serafino and her brothers Giuseppe, Raffaele, and Francesco.
Maria is affectionately survived by her daughter Maria (Gian Paolo) and son Vincent (Lianne). She leaves behind five grandchildren Angela (Ian), Steven (Sarah), Crystal (Chris), Serafino Jr., Vincent Jr., four great grandsons Brody, Blake, Weston and Jameson, brother Giovanni and sister Domenica (Tomaso) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Those that knew Maria knew she loved to cook for anyone that wanted to sit at her table. Her love of family was unwavering and she smiled when she had all her family around her, especially the grandkids and great grandkids. Baby Nonna will be missed by all the family but as we keep her traditions alive we will keep her spirit with us.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 555 Slocan Street in Vancouver BC on Tuesday September 14th at 11 AM. Due to COVID, distancing protocols and masks will be mandatory. Entombment will be immediate family only. A celebration of life will be held at a future date when we are able to enjoy a party of food and drink with all of you.
