He was predeceased by his parents Paolo and Bernardina (nee Carriero), and is survived by his devoted wife Rosa (nee Baratta); daughters Dina (Jorge) and Claudia (Roberto); son Lino; brother Giovanni (Gelsomina); grandchildren Samantha Maria (Cole), Sebastian, Nicholas, and Chiara; granddog Bruno; and many nieces and nephews.
Mario was a proud member of the Bersaglieri army corps and Vancouver's Molisano-Italian community. Having survived countless health crises, he was a fighter to the end, but the battle scars eventually took their toll.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday January 16, 2017 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby BC.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held by Fr Eduardo Quintero at 10:00am on Tuesday January 17 at Our Lady Of Sorrows Catholic Church, 555 South Slocan Street, Vancouver BC, followed by entombment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
